Focus on the characteristics, conservation challenges, and sustainable management of soils.

Encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, and reinforce the relevance of soil as a strategic natural resource

The event aims to celebrate World Soil Day, established by the FAO, by promoting scientific dissemination and awareness about the importance of soil for environmental sustainability and agricultural production. Held at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid Region (UFERSA), the activity will bring together undergraduate and graduate students from Agronomy, Forest Engineering, Soil and Water Management, and Plant Science programs. Over a four-hour program, the event will feature a keynote lecture, a thematic roundtable, and a technical-practical session focused on the Soil qualities description and characteristics, conservation challenges, and sustainable management of soils in the Brazilian semi-arid region. The initiative seeks to strengthen academic training, encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, and reinforce the relevance of soil as a strategic natural resource.
